Ernest Herbert Johnson Jr.

Mr. Ernest Herbert Johnson, Jr., age 88, also known as Flash, or Curly by his friends at Delta Air Lines, of Hampton, GA passed away September 7, 2017. Mr. Johnson was born in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Margaret Covington Johnson and Ernest Herbert Johnson Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Dan T. Johnson. Mr. Johnson enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being a NASCAR fan, traveling, playing baseball when he was young, and drinking his Dr. Pepper. Mr. Johnson was a Yo-Yo extraordinaire and entertained with his Yo-Yo. He also did sign language and was an interpreter when called on. He was employed as a mechanic for Delta Air Lines for 42 plus years. Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Betty Beavers Johnson of Hampton; children, Judy McDonald (David) of McDonough and Jimmy Johnson (Debbie) of Hampton; granddaughter, Cody Brown (Josh) of Newnan; great grandchild, Lochlan Brown of Newnan; brother, Jack Johnson (Joy) of Woodstock; sister, Anne Martin (Mack) of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service for Mr. Johnson will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 - 1:00 PM at Tara Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
