I love you Aunt Evelyn. I have always admired and respected you. I remember all of the fun days and evenings our families had together filled with laughter. Rest easy now and one day we will all be together again. I love you. Praying for my uncle, cousins and the children for peace and comfort.

Art, we talked yesterday and you already know the love and appreciation we had for Evelyn and the wonderful memories we shared. I do want the girls to know how much we loved their Mother and the good times we had!

I loved working with Evelyn!  She was a very special person. I always looked forward to seeing her come to my room. The kids did, too. She was always so kind and sweet with everyone. She would do anything to help, often before I even asked. She just knew and would do it! She had the best sense of humor.  We use to laugh until we cried. I really do miss seeing my dear sweet friend every day.  I’m so glad I have my memories!❤️

I had the privilege of working with Ms Jenkins. She was such a kind and sweet lady who often encouraged me when things got rough on the job and I really appreciate her for that. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. One of my favorite memories is how each year on the last day of school she would organize the bus ramp party as we waved to the kids and celebrated them and us making it through another school year 😀 I will miss you Ms Jenkins. 

I knew and worked with Evelyn for sixteen  years at a place where some days it was difficult to find a smile. But not when Evelyn was around! I looked forward to the time of day when I knew she’d be arriving at my door to teach our babies. She was so calm and collected, even when the kids were acting crazy, and she just had a way of talking to them that calmed them down, too. She was just so REAL. And she always called it just as she saw it, but never in a mean way. She’d help wherever there was a need, and you could count on her to be there. She will be forever in my memory sitting out on the benches behind Oakland soaking up the sunshine. Rest In Peace, friend.💙

I knew Mrs. Jenkins through being close friends with JJ in high school. She was so sweet & kind to me. I loved being around her. My heart goes out to her family. May memories comfort you all during this extremely difficult time. Holding you all in my thoughts & prayers. Love, Jenny 

I only met Mrs. Jenkins a couple times but she was always so kind. My prayers are with you all. May God give you the comfort, strength & peace only he can give. 

Evelyn has been a cherished friend since Kim and Leigh Anne were in the 4th grade. We had many laughs (and sometimes aggravation) raising our kids together. Art, Evelyn, Stan and I took many good, fun trips together through the years and enjoyed meeting for dinners when we could. I’ll really miss talking with my dear friend. Evelyn was such a “kind” soul. Every time you saw her she was smiling, and telling you something to make you smile as well. The love she had for us as a staff, was amazing! She always made you feel welcomed, and went above and beyond for the students that she worked with daily. Her presence will truly be missed. Praying for the family that God will continue to bless you during this difficult time! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Art, Leigh Anne and Jayne, Larry and I were saddened to hear of Evelyn’s passing. As I thought about the news I had just heard, I was reminded of all our time together at the ball fields. There was much laughter, cheering and good conversation. Those were indeed, the good old days. Our prayers are with you all as you navigate the days ahead.  

My prayers are with all of you. Evelyn was the first person at Oakland Elementary to make me feel welcome. She always invited me to eat lunch with her and included me in all the happenings at the school. I loved her dry sense of humor and how she loved every child at the school. Praying for peace and comfort for each of you.

It was always a good day when Evelyn came in my classroom. She was a wonderful  teacher & friend. Evelyn had a way with children, that many teachers would love to have. I always enjoyed her company, help and friendship. I know God is enjoying her sense of humor now.

I've known this precious family for over 40 years. Our lives have been intertwined through my early days of babysitting Leigh Anne, JJ and then Alyssa to attending church where Art & Evelyn taught my kids in SS, to celebrating weddings, and working together in the education field. Evelyn is such a special, beautiful and unique soul. Everyone loved her because her heart was pure and genuine. She could make you laugh until you cried and she was willing to help you at the drop of a hat.  She enjoyed life and loved her family and all who knew her. By knowing Evelyn, we are all better people and her memory and legacy will live on for a long time. Heaven is a brighter place because you have entered...I will miss you!  Love you my sweet friend!!!!

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Arthur L. Jenkins, children, Leigh Anne (Ronnie) Bryant of Newnan, Jaye (Chad) Collier of Marietta, Alissa (Ben) Wells of Jackson. She also has nine grandchildren, Tanner (Mackenzie) Bryant, Nolan Bryant, Kathryn Bryant, Jackson Collier, Garrett Collier, Bo Collier and Reid Wells, Jennifer Wells and James Wells and two great grandchildren, Anna Leigh Bryant and Andrew Bryant. Evelyn is survived by her sister Gloria (Richard) Smith of Brooks, Georgia.
