George Augustus Newsome, age 81, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. George was born January 17, 1941 in Wrens, Georgia to the late Theodore and Nancy Thompson Newsome. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and owned and operated Metro Prints for many years. George was a member of Abundant Life Church and enjoyed working in his yard and garden. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Margaret Newsome; son, Eddie Newsome of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Tim Davenport of Ola; grandchildren, Katelynn and Jonathan Newton and Kyle Davenport; siblings, Catherine and John May of Wrens, Jimmy and Joyce Newsome of Thompson and Thomas and Shelby Newsome of Indiana. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 - 2:00 PM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
