

Dr. Gerald Eugene (Gene) Crumbley, Sr. of McDonough, GA went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on July 23, 2026 at the age of 98. He passed away from an overdose of birthdays. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He was a Doctor of Chiropractic for 40 years. He was also a raconteur, prolific writer, wordsmith, and rhymer with several published books after he was 85. He personally made and handed out thousands of “Smiley Faces” that proclaimed “God Loves You . . . He Sent Jesus”.
He was born in Fulton County, the son of the late Matilda Stansell and William Raleigh Crumbley. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Simpson; his brothers; Richard, Carlton, Laverne, Murray, and sisters; Carolyn and Louise. He is survived by; his children Dr. (Gerry) Gerald (Rhonda) Crumbley, Jr.; Dr. Thomas (Sheree) Crumbley; David (Erin) Crumbley; and Jennifer Bonder (Russell); Sister-in-law Sylvia Austin Crumbley; the love of his life in his latter years Nancy Dyes, along with 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
