

Mr. Glenn Thomas Ragsdale, Jr., the oldest son of the late Glenn Thomas Ragsdale, Sr and Lessie B. Dunagan, was born February 1, 1931 in Atlanta, Georgia. Glenn had one sister, Geraldine Adams and one brother, Benjamin Franklin Ragsdale that preceded him in death in 1987 and 2013 respectively. He graduated from Brown High School in Atlanta, Georgia and joined the U.S. Navy in 1950. He served 4 years, spent time in Guam during the Korean War and was trained as an Avionics technician. He started work with Delta Air Lines, Inc in June of 1955 and retired as a Foreman in Avionics with 34 years of service.
Glenn married Martha Anne Corall on June 12, 1955, the daughter of the late Oscar Peary Corall and Nell C. Wall. They were blessed with four children – Anthony Glenn (Renee) Ragsdale, Liisha Ragsdale Bost, Robin Melissa (Sam) Herren and Russell Cameron (Alice) Ragsdale, nine grandchildren - Mikael Ragsdale, Joseph Ragsdale, Aaron Ragsdale; Joshua (Rebekah) Ortiz, Katherine Ortiz, Jason (Lauren) Ortiz, Jackson Herren, Susanna Herren; Cameron (Candice) Ragsdale and four great-grandchildren – Evan Alexander Ragsdale, Ella Grace Ortiz, Lilith Blaze Ragsdale and Tessa Joy Ortiz. Glenn spent many years in Riverdale, GA, Locust Grove, GA and finally in Jackson, GA. He enjoyed bowling, playing softball and coaching many of the recreational and travel sports teams for his children. He loved being outdoors, so the family spent many summer vacations camping in the Great Smoky Mountains. After retirement he spent countless hours riding his bicycle all over Henry, Butts and Monroe counties. Glenn accepted Jesus as his personal savior at Peoples Baptist Church in 1987 and was a faithful member serving in several trusted capacities at the church including usher, money counter and deacon. Glenn Thomas Ragsdale departed this life on December 30, 2021 just prior to his 91st birthday. The family will receive friends at 12:00pm on January 5, 2022 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Funeral services for Mr. Ragsdale will be held at 1:00pm in our chapel to be officiated by Pastor Satterfield and Pastor Turner. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
