

Hubert L. "Buster" Posey, 74, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away on September 6, 2024. Born on July 4, 1950, Buster was a cherished member of his community and a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Renée Posey; daughter, Kimberlee Posey (Joseph); grandson, Peyton Johnson; and sisters, Becky Murphy, Brenda Andrews, and Jeanette (Charles) Berry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Myrtis Posey; sister, Wilma Robinson; son, Jason Posey; and step-daughter, Brandee Johnson.
Buster dedicated 43 years of his life to the Norfolk Southern Railroad as a locomotive engineer. He was a member and former president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers (B.L.E). His commitment to his profession was matched by his dedication to his community, particularly through his involvement at Jodeco Methodist Church. There, he was fondly known as "The Pancake Santa" during the annual Breakfast with Santa event, contributed to youth auctions, and assisted with church BBQs.
His personal joys included vacationing to Panama City Beach, attending NASCAR races in Daytona Beach, and generously taking the less fortunate to Braves games. Buster's life was marked by his kindness and the joy he brought to others through his hobbies and community involvement.
Buster's legacy of love, service, and community engagement will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Buster's life will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at Jodeco Methodist Church, 1500 Jodeco Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281, at 2:00 PM.
