She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Stephen Coker, to whom she was married from May 2, 1981, until his passing on November 15, 2004; her sister, Toni Spain; her twin brother, Jack Poore; and her daughter-in-law, Kim Chastain.
She is survived by her sister, Sandy Parker; son, William Cowart and his spouse Carmen; son, Judd Chastain; and stepdaughter, Sharon Cunningham. She is also survived by four grandsons, Brad, Brandan, Michael, and Nicholas; one granddaughter, Brittney; three great-grandsons, Jason, Davis, and Brady; four great-granddaughters, Adeline, Sarah, Emma, and Nevaeh; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Jackie was a very hard worker with a tenacious personality. Anything she did, she did well. She retired from her career as a Henry County school bus driver and then relocated to Jasper, Georgia, where she lived until her passing.
She was always deeply devoted to her family. She loved to cook family dinners on Sundays and was a wonderful cook—her fried chicken and strawberry cakes were the best. She would make everyone laugh by pronouncing words in her own special way, or sometimes even coming up with a different word altogether, laughing right along with everyone else. Even though she is no longer with us in body, she will always remain in our hearts. We now take comfort in knowing that she is home at last with our Savior.
We love you, MawMaw!
