James Howard Banks

Mr. James Howard Banks, age 82 of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 13, 2016. He was born in Madras, Georgia to the late Howard Smith and Thelma Helen Brown Banks. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Banks and grandsons, Jason Banks and Jonathan Banks. He was a loving husband, brother and exceptional father and grandfather, he made us all his family. James was a friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed helping people, hunting, fishing, and was an overall sportsman. He will always be known for his humor and wit. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Banks of McDonough; children, Gary (Sheri) Banks of Warner Robins, Ronnie (Donna) Banks of Clarkesville, Rusty (Anne) Banks of Ft. Mills, SC and Bonnie Banks Kirstine of Stockbridge; brother, Julian (Susan) Banks of Sharpsburg; sister, Joanne Martin of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 – 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Al O’Quinn will officiate. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro at 2:00 pm. Friends may visit the family Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
