James "Jim" "Boo" Henry Boucher, age 79, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away November 20, 2021. He was born February 4, 1942 in Keene, New Hampshire to the late Henry Onesine and Dorothy May Howes Boucher. Jim faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was a helicopter mechanic and a Huey gunner. He was a senior mechanic for Delta Airlines for 30 years where he was known as "Boo". In his early years at Delta, Jim was on the restoration team of the Huff-Deland Crop Duster from Monroe, LA which now is displayed in the Delta Museum. After retiring from Delta, Jim was a substitute teacher for the Henry County Schools System for many years and then taught A&P mechanics at Clayton State University. Jim was an accomplished writer - short stories about his time in the Army and Vietnam. He also wrote a novel about his life growing up in the South, which added some fiction to this story, as he actually was raised in the North. He was an avid reader and private pilot. Jim loved to ride his motorcycles and had a love and fascination for British motorcycles, trains and steam engines. He helped raise money over the years for Bikers Battling Breast Cancer. He attended Grace Baptist Church and loved to make people laugh. Survivors include his bride of 38 years, Pamela Davis Boucher; son, Edwin (Bridgette) Boucher; grandsons, Ethan, Nathaniel and Forest all of Locust Grove; sisters, May (George Pereira) Reed of Buzzards Bay, MA and Natalie (Jon) Lounder of Canaan, NH; nieces and nephews, Edward (Linda) Reed of Goose Creek, SC, Sean (Michelle) Reed of Sutton, MA, Michele (Carl) Rakowski of Lewes, DE, Donna (Greg) Wilson of Gilsum, NH and William "Bill" Jarvis of Winchendon, MA; sister in law, Pat (Aden) Bogue of Stockbridge and her children, Derek Delk of Stockbridge, Angela Delk (Shane) VanPut of Statesville, NC and Dylan Bogue of Manchester. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 - 11:00 AM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Kenny Heath will officiate. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
