James "Bill" William Dickson, 92, passed on August 31, 2026. He was born in Jewell, GA to the late Walter and Ramelle Dickson. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Jeannette Norris Dickson and sister Ruth Coleman.
Bill loved his career as a surveying engineer and co-owned Jimmerson Dickson Inc for 30 years. He was especially proud of the work he provided for the Atlanta Airport and downtown interstates. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed photography and many other interests. He was a follower of Christ and did mission work in Liberia. He sponsored Kairose in the Philippines and supported her through her college years. Above all else he loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Granddaddy will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children, Bruce Dickson and Cindy (Murry) Chambers; grandchildren, Josh (Kat) Dickson, Holly (Daniel) Justice, Brenda (Chris) Roberts, Ashley (Danny) McCain, Kaitlin (Patrick) Parsons, Jason (Allison) Chambers, Whitney (Michael) Jones and Ben (Page) Chambers; great grandchildren, Andru, Bowden, Campbell, Daxton, Emily, Jackson, Brady, Grayson, Noah, Samuel, Emerson, Parker, Barrett, Eli and Aria; brother George Lee (Earline) Dickson.
A visitation will be at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, US, on September 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by his funeral service in the Haisten Chapel at 12:00 pm. A committal service will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252, US, on September 2, 2026, following services.
