Mr. James Fred Horton, age 85 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 18, 2017. He was born in Emmanuel County, Georgia to the late James Robert and Essie Mae Smith Horton. James was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. He retired after 21 years with Carolina Freight and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Annie Irwin Horton; children, Elizabeth (Frank) Sanders of McDonough, Alan (Denise) Horton of Milledgeville, Fay (Doug) Gilbert of McDonough, Kay (Randy) Hendrix of Griffin; nine grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 21, 2017 – 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Stewart will officiate. Interment will follow at Morrow City Cemetery.
