Reverend James Alexander Peppers, age 81, of Locust Grove, Georgia, went to be with His Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Mr. Peppers was a resident of Laurel Park Nursing facility in Stockbridge, Georgia at the time of his death. He pastored several churches between 1966 and 2004. He also owned the Calvary Book Nook in Lawrenceville, Georgia for twenty-seven years. Mr. Peppers was preceded in death by a son, James “Al” Peppers; parents, William and Viola Peppers; three brothers, four sisters, and a granddaughter, Karen Rene (Whitlock) Kopanezos. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Rena Mae Nunnelley Peppers of Locust Grove, Georgia; daughters, Susan Gayle (Robert) Whitlock of Locust Grove and Brenda Rene Dempsey of Marietta; son, Jonathan Paul (Alaina) Peppers of Wamego, Kansas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a member of Locust Grove First Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Peppers will be Saturday, June, 14, 2014 at 11:00 in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia with Rev. Jonathan Peppers and Rev. Craig Bowers officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 13, 2104 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
