John Mark Harrison Sr.

John Mark Harrison Sr., age 77, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 18, 1947 to the late John and Jessie Harrison. John was also preceded in death by his half brother, Bud Breedlove and two half sisters, Dot Taylor and Jackie Nash.

John was a born again Christian and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud US Army Veteran who also worked for Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth for 40+ years. He enjoyed riding his Harley and driving his ‘69 Dodge Dart in Superstock Drag Racing. He liked camping, fishing, hunting & visiting Cherokee, NC as he felt a close connection to his Cherokee Heritage. He also enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Barbara Harrison, his son Mark (Becky) Harrison of Flovilla, his daughter Angela Partain of Jackson, GA (Michael Fannin), his daughter Tracy Reese of Grovetown, GA, grandchildren, Kylie Harrison, John Mark Harrison, III, Katy Fannin and Travis (Carrie) Cook, great grandchildren, Logan and Sutton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 and from 2:00pm - 3:00pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, Georgia.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions to Pinecrest Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
