

John was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late John and Mittie Harville. At the age of 20 John signed up to serve his country in the United States Air Force. At the end of his enlistment, which included a tour in Korea, John returned to civilian life where his knowledge, skill and talents working as a hydraulic systems repairman were a perfect fit for his new career with Delta Air Lines.
John was a man that enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. He was reunited in Heaven with family members that include his sister Lena, and brothers Charles, Robert, Eugene and Henry, his niece Donna Marie, his parents and others. John's memory lives on in the hearts of his beloved wife and partner of 65 years Joan and their children Shirley (Stephen), Douglas and Jeffrey (Trisha). John's true legacy can be seen in his grandchildren Charlotte, Melissa, Jesse, Lauren, Jeremy, Jacob, Levi and Caitlyn along with 11 great children. John is also survived by his nieces Judy and Mittie and other extended family.
John's family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Thursday February 10, 2022 with funeral services to follow at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia.
