Joseph Wayne Hortman

Joseph “Wayne” Hortman of Covington, GA, passed away August 2, 2014. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Mary “Joyce” Hortman; Children: Annette Baucom, Matt & Sue Hortman and Tammy Hortman & Arnold Palo; 9 Grandchildren, Michael Baucom, Heather Baucom Garner & Lucas Baucom, Marie, Sherri & Makayla Hortman, Anthony, Kate & Kacilyn Palo; 7 Great grandchildren, Tristin, Trinity, Kristopher, Audrey, Abigail, Cale, Payton; Sister, Trisha Christian; Mother-in-law, Ella Ruth Goss; and many loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his parents Bill & Inez Hortman, father-in-law Roy Goss and son-in-law Roy Baucom. Wayne worked at Kerns Furniture Manufacturing in Conyers, GA for many years and retired from Southern Textiles in McDonough, GA. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and being in the Mountains. The celebration of Wayne’s life will be at Prospect Methodist Church, 6752 Hwy 212 N. Covington, GA on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 – 11:00 AM with Rev. Ronny Brannan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 – 8:00 PM.
