Mr. Joseph Donald Payne, age 81 of Hampton, Georgia passed away June 7, 2015. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Ralph Alonzo and Sara Corine Allen Payne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Crittenden Payne and his sister, Dorothy Floyd. Don was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and was a truck driver for over 60 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, NASCAR, Western movies and mechanic work. Survivors include his children, Joe (Gail) Payne of Rising Fawn, Judy (Rudi) Helms of Moreland, Robert (Cheryl Jackson) Payne of Griffin, Brenda F. Payne of Barnesville and Denise (Ronald) Darsey of Griffin; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; companion, Donna Rogers of Hampton. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home.
