

Judy Darlene Tarleton, age 85, of Buford, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. Darlene was born February 13, 1940 in Scottdale, Georgia, to Henry and Ruth Clay. She attended Clarkston High School in Decatur, Georgia. She was a member of Ivy Creek Baptist Church in Buford, and before that for many years she was a member of Salem Baptist Church in McDonough, where she was also on staff for a short while. Darlene was a devoted wife to her sweetheart, Billy, for almost 63 years until his death in 2020. One of her loves was painting, and many family members and friends have her work displayed in their homes. She also loved to crochet and knit. Just before she became ill, she finished creating hats as Christmas gifts for her great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Billy, and her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Melt Blalock, and her brother, Alan Clay. She is survived by her sons, James (Anna) Tarleton of Sautee Nacoochee, Rodney (Joy) Tarleton of Walton, Kentucky, and Bryan (Leanne) Tarleton of Buford; sister, Patricia (Eddy) Armstrong of Woodstock; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren including one expected any day now and one expected next Spring. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and her cat, Precious. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 from 10:00am - 12:00pm with the service immediately following at Ivy Creek Baptist Church, 2500 Ivy Creek Road, Buford. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough, Georgia. Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough is in charge of arrangements.
