Well I was already thinking about planning a birthday celebration for you after this pandemic is over. You kept talking about going home and we all thought you wanted to go back home at 28 Crumbley Road. Now I know what you meant. Although, you were willing to go home with us instead. Now I know what you really longed for.  You wanted to go to your heavenly home. Tomorrow, Thursday, April 9, 2020, will be your 95th birthday. This is your first birthday in heaven. Happy Birthday. We will always remember the Hope, Faith, and Love you shared with everyone. Lord, help us to do the same. I hope they have chocolate cake in heaven. However, they celebrate in heaven I know it will be a great celebration. We will always remember you and Daddy's smile and laughter.

Mama Kate, I can’t imagine what life would’ve been like if I didn’t have you for a grandmother.  I will forever miss the coo-coo clock ticking  through the night while waiting and tossing about for a brand new day to start with you. Until now, I wish that clock ticked a little slower. I remember nights I couldn’t fall asleep you would trace patterns on our backs, knees, and faces to help us grandkids go to sleep one by one. I also remember the day I got a switchin from the pear tree branch from eating all the ice cream sandwiches and drinking all the Classic Coke while telling a fib. Those hot summer days won’t be the same.  I will never forget the endless magic shows & theatrics you and Paw Paw attended and came to watch us grandkids perform in the back guest bedroom. I also know that I acquired your humor gene from you for those late night comedy skits. I won’t forget the days of watching Matlock, Andy Griffith, and Westerns with you and Paw Paw.  One of my favorite things to do was to come eat your chocolate oatmeal cookies and home made biscuits while talking about life. However, of all the important things in life, you taught me what kindness, hope, hard work, faith, and love is.  I always asked you what the secret to love is. You said, “no matter what happens in life be sure your the one to love harder.”  With this I close by saying even though you’re gone I will always Love You harder!

I cannot begin to explain how special you are to me and Craig.  You were not only an amazing grandmother to all of your natural born grandchildren, you were an amazing grandmother to us.  You have taught me what grace and kindness look like and I can only hope that some of your amazing qualities will shine through me from the love I have for you forever.  Thank you for being our Mama Kate and for taking care of PawPaw, raising all of your boys to be strong, gentle and kind all at the same time(that is not an easy task).  I am forever blessed for having you in my life and I will cherish every memory until we meet again.  I love you Mama Kate

I  look forward to all the family gatherings because I know Im getting some good food & good laughs! Knowing that family gatherings won’t be the same sucks but we will make the best of what we have and cherish the family we have left! One thing you told me that I will never forget is the only way you could get Pawpaw Crumbley’s attention was to go into the pasture and “moooo” like a cow. Loved your sense of humor! You will be truly missed! 

I married the last Crumbley boy (Ted) who was living at home.  I am sure that was not easy for Mama Kate but she always accepted me into the family.  She never failed to show love to me.  
She tried but was unsuccessful in teaching me how to sew (took 9 months for me to complete a maternity dress for myself), the art of crotcheting, and how to make her wonderful biscuits (mine are like hockey pucks).  
However, I will never forget the memories I have when I was able to help with family meal preparations.  I felt like her sous chef.  We would talk and laugh while preparing the food.  
Mama Kate, I love you and will forever miss you!  

My heart is broken.  I can not express how loving and welcoming she was to me when I married  Randy. I asked her what should I call you she said honey anything you like but just don't call me late for dinner  as she hugged me.  She taught me so much . How to cook southern food ,sew,cross stitch and about southern grace... being able to be quiet and say nothing when you really want to.  I was blessed to share in her confidences and help her when her health was failing.  I remember saying oh look and she said I cant see it .At that point I learned how to help her see things she wasn't able to I will be forever grateful and blessed to call her Mama. 

My heart breaks for the loss of your mother and my  precious aunt Kate.  She had such a good sense of humor and was such a joy and pleasure to spend time with.  I have such fond childhood memories and will cherish them forever.  Praying for peace for the family.

Aunt Kate was for a time much like a mom to me and I will never forget spending so much time as a child with her and spending the night with Rick. She always treated me just like she did her own kids. I never felt anything but good about myself being around her,  she just knew what life was all about and made sure all of her boys and me knew the important things in life.  She made sure we knew right from wrong and I loved that she was so open about her opinions and shared her thoughts. I can promise you Kate was smarter than most people I have ever met and I don't remember when I learned what a sense of humor she had but being young it was of course a great surprise. I am proud to have known her and grateful for the memories. 

I am so sorry about your loss. Kate was a sweet and wonderful lady. She will be missed.
