Kathryn lived a life devoted to her faith, her family, and caring for others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, whose love and kindness touched the lives of those around her. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Forest Park for many years, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to children. When she moved to Henry County she joined Salem Baptist Church.
She worked as a school bus driver for Clayton County for more than 30 years, faithfully serving generations of children and families throughout her community.
Kathryn loved spending time outdoors and working in her yard. Some of her most treasured years were spent caring for her grandchildren during the summers, and later, she was blessed to do the same for her great-granddaughters. Her family was one of the greatest joys of her life, and the love and memories she gave them will be cherished forever.
Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Kathy Whitmire and her husband, Rick, and Kay Slomer and her husband, Marty; her grandchildren, Christopher Reinig and his wife, Kelli, and Jennifer Payne and her husband, Robbie; and her beloved great-granddaughters, Brooke, Abbygail, Audrey, and Lily; her brother, Ralph Glaze, and sister Beatrice Coker, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was reunited in Heaven with her loving husband, Alvin Bostic; her parents, Herman and Lily Kate Glaze; her sister, Martha Buice; her brothers, James Glaze and Ray Glaze; and several other beloved family members who went before her.
Kathryn leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, faith, hard work, and devotion to family. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is home with her Lord and reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.
A graveside service honoring Kathryn’s life will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park.
