Mr. Larry James Turner, age 76 of Jenkinsburg, Georgia passed away March 29, 2019. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Paul Augusta and Violet Mae Stephens Turner. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Carl and Betty Turner. Larry faithfully served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he received a Purple Heart. Larry was retired from Glass Containers after 25 years of service and then owned and operated Turner Cores for 20 years. He loved to care for his family and was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Kay Turner; sons, Keith (Heidi) Turner of Peachtree City and Cody Turner of Atlanta; step children, Kristina Drew of Jenkinsburg and David (Erica) McIlwaine of McDonough; grandchildren, Tim Drew Walters, Kaylee Elliott, Devon Drew, Dustin Turner, Ethan and Madelynn McIlwaine. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2019 – 11:00 AM in the Haisten Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Doster Cemetery in Monroe at 2:00 PM. Friends may visit the family Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
