Lillian V. Blackmer

Lillian Virginia Blackmer, age 90, of Douglasville, GA formerly of Stockbridge, GA passed away September 21, 2016. Mrs. Blackmer was born in Douglas County the daughter of the late Virgie Lee Gore Freeman and Rube Aaron Freeman. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Cathy Mendenhall and Sharon Mack and all of her siblings. She was a dedicated homemaker and raised and provided for her six daughters by herself. Mrs. Blackmer enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going out to dinner with family, talking on the phone, watching gospel preaching, and babysitting. Survivors are her daughters, Peggy Chancey (Mike), Linda Mascarenhas (Frank), Deborah Chastain, and Terri Blackmer (Belkys); grandchildren, Sherry Knight, Christy Gailey, Heather Mendenhall, Jennifer Hawkins (Mark), Michelle Mendenhall, Mark Mascarenhas, Austin Mack, Brian Mascarenhas, Anthony Parker (Arlen), and Allie Chastain; great grandchildren, Jason, Sidney, Sarah, Brayden, Carson, Wyatt, Kyle, Jakob, Hunter and Bradey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 4 – 6:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Sunday, September 25, 2016 – 2:00 PM in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park.
