Lola K. Barrett August 2, 1934 – November 1, 2026 Lola Kiker Barrett, lovingly known as Granna, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on August 2, 1934, in Haleyville, Alabama, to Richard and Lucy Kiker, she later made her home in Georgia, where she built a lifetime of memories surrounded by family and loved ones. Lola was a woman whose love for her family knew no bounds. She had a beautiful way of making people feel loved, welcomed, and at home. She loved to laugh, enjoyed playing games with family, and found happiness in the simple things in life. Whether she was reading a good book, working on a crossword puzzle, spending time at church, or gathered around family playing games, she treasured the moments that made life special. Her faith was an important part of her life, and her love for her family was one of her greatest gifts. She loved unconditionally, laughed often, and created memories that will be cherished for generations. To her family, she was so much more than a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was Granna — a special part of their lives, a source of comfort, and a love that will never be replaced. Lola was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Gene D. Barrett, who passed away in March 1996; her parents, Richard and Lucy Kiker; and her brother, John (Gay) Kiker, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She leaves behind two loving daughters, Beth (Tony) Hall and Becky (Joyce) Boyette; grandchildren, Cari (Mike) Price, Chris (Christina) Hall, Nick (Dania) Preston, Travis Preston, and Robin (Jr.) Wells; and great-grandchildren, Abby and Colt Price, Ethan and Logan Hall, Lilly and Oliver Preston, and Declan and Lachlan Wells. She also leaves behind countless family members and friends whose lives were made brighter simply because they knew and loved her. Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave us will never leave. Her laughter will echo in our memories, her lessons will live on through the generations, and the traditions she helped create will continue to bring our family together. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. She may no longer be sitting among us, but she will forever have a place at the family table and in each of our hearts. Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Granna. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 992 Mt Bethel Rd, McDonough, GA on November 6, 2026. Funeral Services will start at 3:00pm and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
