Marc S. Carlstrom

Mr. Marc S. Carlstrom, age 57 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away May 1, 2016. Marc was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Warren and Evelina Vittello Carlstrom. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evie Karaskiewicz. Marc attended DePaul University and was a parishioner of the Catholic Church. He moved to Atlanta in 1990 and was a dedicated, dependable Operations Supervisor for DHL Global Forwarding. He never missed a day of work until his declining health. Marc enjoyed playing poker and watching his favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson. He also enjoyed all of Chicago’s sports teams including the Bulls, Bears and Cubs. Survivors include his wife, Liz Carlstrom of Locust Grove, Georgia; his Pomeranian, Montie: brother, Larry (Maria) Carlstrom of Camano Island, Washington; sister, Diana (Bobby) Lewandowski of Chicago, Illinois; brother in law, Mike Karaskiewicz of Chicago, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for Marc S. Carlstrom will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 – 11:00 am at Haisten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the American Cancer Society, Spirit of Harmony Foundation (spiritofharmony.org) or Sacred Journey Hospice in memory of Marc.
