

Margaret Elizabeth Randolph Jones, age 84, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Margaret was born in Atlanta, Georgia on March 5, 1938 to the late William and Margaret Louise Randolph. She attended Fulton County High School and graduated from Washington State High School in 1956.
Margaret was married for 25 years to the late Paul Jones and was very proud to be a military wife.
Margaret had an amazing green thumb and was known for her beautiful flower gardens and always won Yard of the Month in Naval housing.
Mrs. Jones was a fantastic seamstress and was known for sewing wedding dresses for her friends and her daughters, prom dresses for nieces and many alterations and Halloween costumes over the years.
Margaret had a beautiful soprano voice and at one time sang on the radio in Atlanta.She enjoyed teaching music to children and led several children's musicals at church. She could be counted on to sing "O Holy Night" and play handbells every Christmas Eve at Locust Grove United Methodist Church.
Margaret spent several years working as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels as well as volunteering and helping with special needs children and adults.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was also predeceased by her brother Robert Randolph; sisters Coylene Higgins and Patricia Randolph and her infant son Sterling George Jones.
She is survived by her daughters whom she loved very much; Elizabeth (Mike) Bartimus, Robyn (Michael) Vanderford, and Dennise (Kenneth) Duckett along with her son Dale Jones and oldest son Paul "Vic" Jones who was his mother's caregiver. From Paul "Vic" Jones and Dale's sisters and family: we would like to thank them for the constant and compassionate care you gave our mother so that she could stay in her home. We will be forever eternally grateful for the love shown to mom, she loved both you boys very much.
Margaret is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who lovingly called her "MawMaw" and her sister Billie McMillan.
Margaret's family would like to thank Sacred Journey Hospice for the loving care and compassion they gave to their mother and a special thanks to her sitter, Cheri Vise (Mom loved you!)
A memorial service will be held at Locust Grove United Methodist Church on Sunday April 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends for one hour prior and in keeping with Margaret's wishes ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to Henry County Special Olympics at 10 Cleveland St in Locust Grove, Ga 30248.
