Maria I am struggling to wrap my brain around never seeing you again. I miss you so much at work. You were one of the first people I got to know in Georgia. You were always kind and compassionate. I NEVER had to question your integrity. You lived by your word. You are  one of the best techs I have ever worked with. 
And definitely one of the best human beings I know.   I am so grateful that I got the oppportunity to get to know you and work with you.

Titi Luxa, apart of my heart left with you when you were carried out of your mother’s house. Watching you struggle through sickness and pain was so terrible and, although now you no longer have to suffer, I am heartbroken. It is all so bittersweet. You were not only my aunt, you were my second mother. I always looked forward to the weekend dinners, the holidays and just a chance to sit and talk with you and laugh with you. You loved my daughter, you loved my husband and you accepted me for everything that I am. I’ll miss you to the end. We are all so lucky to have one more guardian angel. 

Maria, I am sad to see you go. My heart breaks for Anthony and lisa. They love you so much as you love them. As I sit here and grieve with your children and family and see the sorrow on their faces brings tears. I wish we had spent time together and in that time I would of told you that I love Anthony like one of my own, you raised a wonderful man. I'll never forget the moment I saw my aunt-in-law, Titi Luxa, leave her family's house for the last time. Though I only had the pleasure of knowing her a few years, my heart sank immediately.  We all die, but then there are those who are loved enough, boisterous enough, spontaneous enough and funny enough to leave a hole that will never be filled in the hearts of those who crossed their paths. She belongs to that elite group.  Her presence was so powerful that it will remain forever.  Whenever there is good shrimp, music, laughter, holiday excitement  and strong, joyful spirit, she'll be right there with all of us. 
Rest in peace my friend, and thanks again for trying to teach me how to dance to Cape Verdean music.  I'll keep practicing and make you proud someday.  Love. 

Lucha, you were my 2nd mother when my mother passed away.   I could tell you anything and you NEVER judged me.   I was always jealous that you were Celina' s godmother because you were truly the best.   I love you and will miss you. Mom... I miss you so much. But knowing that you are no longer in pain eases the hurt in my heart. Since day one you have been the best mother you could for Lisa and myself. You where always there for us, working so hard every day sometimes in pain just so that your kids never went without.There where no words to tell you how much Lisa and myself appreciated everything you done for us. My heart goes out to the family whom I know miss and love Maria so very much. There are a few memories I have and one is trying to sneak out as a teenager and being caught. She made me go back in the house but would be laughing and treasing me because she knew  Aunt Ana was going to get me. Her laughter was infectious along with her big heart. Maria Soares , age 58, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday August 9, 2018. Maria was born June 5, 1960 to Antonio and Antonia Soares. She loved being a dialysis tech for Fresenius Dialysis Care. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Anthony and Lisa Santos; her parents, Antonio and Antonia Soares; her sister, Ana Cobb; her brothers, Francisco and Manuel Soares; nieces and nephews, Francisco Soares, Jr., Anthony Soares, Keith Cobb, Jr., Erica  Cobb Shreves, Eugene Soares Jr., Felicia Soares, Antonio Soares, Siyanne Soares, and Isaiah Soares; and a host of friends.
