Marjorie Carolyn Combs

Mrs. Marjorie Carolyn Combs, age 90 of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away March 27, 2021. She was born in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late Marvin and Helen Lummus Jackson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Parks Combs, her second husband, Ralph Combs and her sister, Bonnell Combs. When Carolyn was seventeen, she moved to Atlanta and lived with her aunt and began her first job at the Federal Reserve Bank. She then returned to Henry County and worked at the First National Bank in McDonough for several years. After over 30 years, Carolyn retired from the United States Postal Service in Locust Grove and then worked for several more years for the Henry County Tag Office. She was a member of Philippi Baptist Church; was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, riding motorcycles, camping, listening to Blue Grass and country music and reminiscing about the good old days. Survivors include her children, Larry Combs, Cheryl Brooks and Marlene (Randall) Lunsford all of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Parks (Kim) Combs of NC, Kelly (Nick) Ware of Locust Grove and Kevin Brooks of Locust Grove; great grandchildren, Alyssa Combs of NC, Grayson Combs of NC and Nolan Ware of Locust Grove. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2021 - 3:00 PM at the Locust Grove City Pavilion. Friends may visit the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.
