Mrs. Mary Ruth Craig Lester, age 79 of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 19, 2014. She was born in McDonough, Georgia to the late Charlie C. and Willie Mae Blissitt Craig. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas (G.T.) Lester and by brothers, Ed and Grady Craig.
Mary was a member of McDonough Baptist Tabernacle and the church choir. She retired after 30 years with Dowling Textile’s and 30 years with Elmore’s Store. She enjoyed caring for others, was a people person and cooking.
Survivors include her sons, Danny and Anthony Lester of McDonough; grandchildren, Curtis Lester and Melissa Lester; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Rebecca Davis of Morrow, Juanita (Larry) Bodine of McDonough, Betty (Harold) Wesley, Frank (Sandra) Craig; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00am from the McDonough Baptist Tabernacle. Pastor James West will officiate. Interment will follow at East lawn Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 6:00–8:00pm at the funeral home. www.haistenfunerals.com.
