Mary Amanda Smith

Mary Amanda Smith, age 89, of McDonough, Georgia passed away on July 20, 2023. She was born on February 23, 1934 in McDonough, Georgia to the late Willie Jackson Allen and Lollie Allen. When Mary was not working as Vice President at Piedmont Molding, she could be found in her garden tending to her flowers. She liked to make sure everything was just right when decorating indoors, making a living space into a welcoming home. Friends of Mrs. Smith enjoyed visiting her and making memories to cherish for years to come. Wesley Way Church was where she went to praise the Lord. Mary is survived by her loving husband, T. R. Chastain; children, Donna (Kirk) Sherwood of Walnut Grove, Georgia; Tony (Debra) Chastain of Monticello, Georgia and Danny Chastain of Conyers, Georgia; nieces, Gayle Allen Norton, Joyce Hammonds, Peggy Treadwell, Shirley Bonner; nephews, Harold Rosser and Wesley Allen. Family will receive visitors two hours prior to the service. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Haisten Funerals and Cremations in McDonough. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
