

Maxine Amie McCormick Bridges, age 92, was born May 9, 1933, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and passed away December 30, 2025. She was born to the late Mabel Irene and Eugene Hunter McCormick. She was raised in Kemmerer and Pinedale, Wyoming by her mother and Stepfather, James Middleton. She graduated from Pinedale High School in 1951, married Marion Artis Bridges on January 5, 1952, and moved to Texas. They moved frequently for Art's job until they settled in Hampton, Georgia in August of 1966.
Maxine retired from the family construction business, Bridges and Son, and was a member of First Baptist Church Lovejoy. She welcomed anyone into her home, and brought laughter to any room with her stories and quick wit. She had ingenuity that she passed on to all her kids, enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, and was a master of crossword puzzles.
She is preceded in death by her late husband, Art, son and daughter-in-law, Troy and Bonnie Bridges.
She is survived by her sister, Christina Middleton Lawver; children, Peggy (Colbert) McLendon, Michael (Joy) Bridges, Gary (Paula) Bridges, and Lona (Michael) Collier; grandchildren, Katie McLendon, Christy (Scott) Wilson, Stephen (Whitney) Bridges, George (Karen) Trombley, Christopher Bess, Susanne (Taylor) Olsen, Michael Largn, and eight great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on January 9, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, located at 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253, United States.
Following the visitation, a celebration of life will take place at the same venue from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
