Michael Terrance Marlin

Michael T. Marlin, of Cheyenne passed away on July 30, 2026, in McDonough GA 30252. Mr. Marlin was born at Quantico Marine Corp Base, VA to Burnette Randolph Marlin, Flint, Michigan; and Wilma Mae Frier, Centerville, South Dakota.

He graduated from Castlemont High School, Oakland, California in June 1973, enlisting in the USAF shortly thereafter. He served as a Medical Logistician, Helicopter Crew Chief, Flight Engineer, and Medical Superintendent in assignments at F.E. Warren AFB, WY; Tyndall AFB, Fl; Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines, Dover AFB, DE; Andrews AFB, MD; U.S. Embassy, OMAN; and Zweibruecken AB, Germany. Mr. Marlin achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, retiring with an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force after 20 years, 2 months, 22 days service on active duty at F. E. Warren AFB, Wyoming on 1 Feb 1994.

Mr. Marlin married the former Deborah R. Mays of Cheyenne, WY on 22 November 1976 in Fort Collins, Colorado while assigned to the 90th Medical Group, F. E. Warren AFB, Cheyenne, Wyoming. He worked as a Civil Servant at the 90th Communications and Civil Engineering Squadrons as a Maintenance Controller, Construction Representative, and Community Planner/Project Programmer from June 1996 to 2017.

He was an active member of Word of Life Church of God, Church of God in Christ (COGIC) and past member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church and served as a member of the Sunday School Department, Praise Team, Choir, Men’s, and Trustee ministries. One of his favorite Scriptures is 1st Peter 1:18-21 “You know that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. He was destined before the foundation of the world but was made manifest at the end of the times for your sake. Through him you have confidence in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God (RSV)

He was a member of Carter-Brown American Legion Post #83 serving as Post Adjutant and Post Finance Officer. He was a member of Amos T. Hall Military Lodge #142, A.F.A.M. Rosencroft, Germany; and Western Star Lodge #6, A.F.A.M. serving in capacity as Treasurer, Secretary, Senior Warden, Worshipful Master, Past Worshipful Master, Worthy Patron, and Past Worthy Patron.

He is survived by his wife Deborah R. Marlin of Cheyenne; daughter Brandi Nicole Lei Brown, son Christopher Nathaniel Lee Marlin, Grandsons Alejandro Tomas Maestas-Marlin, Oscar Christopher Maestas-Marlin, Granddaughter Arianna Myriah Marlin, and Great Granddaughter RaeLynn McKenzie Hirscfeld to include their siblings. Sisters Tanya Wollery, Dallas/Ft. Worth; Vicki J. Toney, San Leandro, California, and Brother William Kuzma, Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burnette (Spike) Marlin, Wilma Kuzma (Marlin); Stepfather, William F. Kuzma; brother Patrick Marlin, and son Christopher N Marlin.
