Milford Steven Autrey

Milford Steven Autrey, age 69, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. A graduate of Forest Park High (1973), Steve was born at Fort McPherson in Atlanta on August 19, 1954 to the late Louis David Autrey, Sr. and Martha Louise Hensley. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Gail Deering. Steve was an avid woodworker, craftsman, and gunsmith. He concluded his 43-year tenure with Georgia Power while dedicating many years of service to those in need of help from storm relief. As a member of the 30th GA Company E, 9th GA Artillery Company and Sumter Flying Artillery, Steve was at his happiest being a part of the Civil War reenactments. He took pride in being a 3rd degree Master Mason, and a member of Community Bible Church. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathy, three daughters, Stephanie (Russ) Adkins of Newnan, Windy (Andrew) Pride of Jackson, and Louise (Les Masters) Autrey of Locust Grove. He was a proud Papa to ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Louis Davis Autrey, Jr. of Albertville, AL and his father-in-law, James Noblett of Newnan, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00pm - 7:00pm. Burial will be held at Forest Hills in Forest Park, GA. Those desiring may send contributions to St. Jude or Scottish Rite.
