Nancy J. Kadel

On March 31, 2026, Nancy J. Kadel stepped through the gates of Heaven. Among those to greet her were her beloved husband Roger W. Kadel, her parents Spencer and Evia Jane Boggs and her sisters-in-law Sue Boggs and Martha Ann Boggs.

Nancy was a devoted Baptist and believed in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Nancy was never one to shy away from speaking what she believed in. It was often said dynamite comes in small packages, which was accurate when it came to Nancy. She may have been tiny, but she was fierce. Standing at 4 foot 8 inches tall didn’t phase her one bit, in fact she embraced it with pride dawning the nick name “Shortcake”.

However, there was nothing small about how much she loved and cared for her family, often putting everyone else before herself. Her husband Roger was the love of her life, and her kids & grandkids were her pride & joy.

She retired from the Fulton County Courthouse as a docket clerk after 20 years. Soon after she and Roger opened their own business, “Legal Beagle”, they served legal documents for attorneys in the metro Atlanta area.

Nancy and Roger were married in Gatlinburg, TN. This would be where Roger would reignite Nancys love of the mountains. They both loved the area and would visit as often as they could.

In 2016, she said goodbye to her better half, and it nearly broke her. She never really accepted the loss, as she spoke about him every day. In 2018 she moved closer to her daughter and adopted (2) cats that she spoiled rotten, they made her smile again.

Nancy’s memory and legacy lives on through her daughter Tonya (David) Darnell, stepson Steven (Jennifer) Kadel, grandchildren Austin Walsh, Alexia Darnell, Zachery Kadel and Zander Kadel. She is also survived by her sisters Jane (Jimmy) Marshall and Marilyn (Donald) Monroe, her brothers Gene Boggs, Wayne (Brenda) Boggs and Melvin (Debbie) Boggs as well as thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces, nephews and extended family.

A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at a later date.
