Neal Wood Burch

Neal Wood Burch, age 91, of McDonough, GA passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. He was born in Lakeland, FL to the late Lee Hugh and Francis Crumbley Burch. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, of 66 years, Betty Carmichael Burch.

Mr. Burch is survived by his two children Ronnie (Nancy) Burch and Janice (Keith) Lovern; siblings Doug (Betty) Burch and Sara (Gene) Dailey; grandchildren Shelley (Luke) Mills, Brady (Marie) Lovern, Corrie (Billy) Booth, and Garrett (Kristin) Burch; great grandchildren Camden Mills, Mason Lovern, Riley Lovern, Harper Kate Mills, and Ayla Burch; and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved family members.

Neal was raised on a farm in Henry County, graduated from McDonough High School and served in the US Army before settling into a 40+ year career with AT&T. He loved spending time entertaining friends and family poolside at their home. Two of his favorite hobbies were fishing and golfing. If he wasn’t home he was on a golf trip with his buddies from Salem Baptist Church or out camping at Clark Hill. He enjoyed vacationing with his family at Cape San Blas Florida. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who was referred to as “Daddy Neal” by his entire family who he loved dearly.

A visitation for Neal will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, Georgia 30253. A celebration of life will be Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Haisten chapel. The committal service will immediately follow Monday, August 14, 2023 at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, Georgia 30253.
