Neville Roy Cammock was born on May 3, 1941, to Sidoney and Webster Cammock in Aenon Town, Clarendon, Jamaica. He was known to his family as “Nas”. Neville emigrated to the UK in 1963 to his parents in Lozells, Birmingham. He worked at Henry and Sons factory until he met Linda Foster in 1968 and the Cammock union was formed. On May 20, 1972, Neville married the love of his life, Linda whom he loved passionately, and they shared a host of children.
Neville worked as a welder with Radiation Ascot before moving his family to the US, settling in Queens, NY in 1983, where he established a successful tile business. He was an active mason and a member of Prince Hall in New York City. Neville passed away on January 11, 2022, at age 80. He leaves behind seven children, including daughters Michele Burrell, Marcia Christie, Natalie Walker, Gail Cammock, Nadine Ricketts, Fetisha Grier and son Michael Burrell. Seven siblings, Carmelita Lovindeer, Verona Cammock, Lloyd Cammock, Garfield Cammock, Lascelle Bowen Cammock, Wendell Cammock, Keith Cammock, and Franklin Cammock. Neville was loved and adored by his grandchildren Amanda, Shane, Darius, Callum, Paris, Leon and Carlos, as well as great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Patrick Cammock and sister Desmen McKissick.
Neville had a love for gardening and grew callaloo, cucumber, pepper, and okra. He also loved music and some of his favorite artists include Sam Cooke, James Brown, Percy Sledge and Tim Chandel.
A wake will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at the Haisten Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Crossroad Church in Stockbridge. Bishop Irvine Bryer will officiate. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park in McDonough.
