It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that the family of Patricia Miller Harton announces her passing on October 23, 2025, at the age of 77. She left this world peacefully in Covington, Georgia, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on December 18, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia, Patricia, also known to friends as Pat, was the beloved only child of Royce and Marjorie Miller. She grew up in what was rural McDonough Georgia, where she developed the values of hard work, faith, and love of family that would guide her throughout her long and beautiful life and be passed along to those around her. On July 26 1991, she married the love of her life, Roy Harton in Atlanta Georgia. Their marriage, lasting 34 years, was an example to those around them of fun, love, faithfulness, selflessness, and compassion. No matter what the circumstances, hope, happiness, and joy were what you would see when you looked at Pat and Roy. Patricia found great joy in her role as a daughter, mother, and especially grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She is survived by her husband Roy Harton, her children Robert and Stephanie Ross, Brett and Britney Lathem, Calvin and Amy Adams, Wendell and Angie Strickland plus nine grandchildren Avery Ross, Kara Ross, Kate Lathem, Jax Lathem, Callie Lathem, Grace Milham, Maddy Adams, Kaleigh Adams and Sophie Strickland who were her world. To the grandchildren she was just Nana. Those who knew Pat will remember her for her smile, family values, dedication to her church, holiday gatherings, and some of the most incredible home-cooked meals. She loved to be surrounded by her family and even in her later years insisted on hosting the holiday meals at her home. Pat was devoted to her career at the State of Georgia within the Supreme Court where she worked as an editor until she retired in spring of 2001. During her career she made several lifelong friends that became more like family. A funeral service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 28 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough Georgia, with Pastor Jimmy Vinson presiding. A visitation will take place at 10 am. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her legacy, sharing stories, and lifting one another up in love. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the hospital staff and visiting friends who provided compassion and care and support during her final days. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love, selflessness, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, we would like to ask that you make a donation to The Michael J. Fox Foundation. give.michaeljfox.org
