Mrs. Patsy Jan McClendon, age 82 of Hampton, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020, loving wife of 49 years to the late Milton McClendon. Patsy was born in Alabama to the late Robert and Nesie McRath. Mrs. McClendon received her Bachelor's Degree from Alabama State University and would later receive her Masters in Education from the University of New Mexico. Due to her husband's military career, Patsy went on to teach in many places, including: Panama, Germany and Augusta. Patsy enjoyed cooking and was famous for her cornbread and sweet potatoes. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, shopping with her family, and animals. Mrs. McClendon is survived by her daughter: Tanya (Fred) Young of Hampton; daughter by love: Monique (Tony) Sorrell of McDonough; beloved grandchildren: Kaiya, Alyssa, Autumn, AJ, Dallas, and Deja; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings: Paul, Bertha, Ruby, Christine, Robert, Alfred, Charles, Joe, and Clarence. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home at 12:00PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
