Peggy Richardson Minter

Peggy was born on May 31, 1938, in Stockbridge, Georgia, to the late William Frank and Margaret Lucile Turpin Richardson. She was raised in Rockdale County and graduated from Rockdale High School. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Gene Minter. Together, they made their home in McDonough, Georgia, where they built a life full of love, family, and lasting friendships.

Peggy was loved by all who knew her. She had a gift for making strangers feel like lifelong friends and was always ready with a warm smile and kind words. She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in her church community, daily walks, friendly conversations, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey Richardson (Ila) and William F. Richardson (Christine); and sisters, Margaret Ellen Richardson Cox (Richard) and Julianne Richardson Powell.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 68 years, Robert E. “Gene” Minter; son, Howard Bart Minter (Kimberly); daughter, Regena Minter Barber (David); grandsons, Jackson Minter, Garrison Minter, Charles E. Barber-Loera (Ricky), Myles Weathersby, Riley Weathersby, and Jackson Weathersby; granddaughter, Rachel Irby McCall (Allen); great-grandsons, Winn McCall and Wilkes McCall; sister, Jean Richardson Dorcheus (Sam); and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253. The family will greet friends an hour prior from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
