Phillip Wayne McGraw, 70, of McDonough, Georgia, passed away on July 13, 2026.
Born on October 14, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia, Phil was the beloved son of the late James Ernest and Kathleen Stephens McGraw. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to dedicate many years of service as a Quartermaster with the Georgia State Patrol, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature.
While Phil took great pride in his career, it was the simple joys of life that truly filled his heart. He had a deep love for the outdoors and especially cherished deer hunting with his son and buddies at Buckeye Hunting Club. Those weekends in the woods were among his happiest memories. Whether he was hunting, golfing, biking, hiking, or playing tennis, Phil found peace and happiness in nature and in the company of those he loved.
He also enjoyed visiting Callaway Gardens, Jekyll Island, and the breathtaking Utah Mountains, where Mirror Lake held a special place in his heart.
Phil will also be remembered for his unwavering faith and kind spirit. He faithfully shared daily devotional messages with family and friends, offering encouragement, hope, and a reminder of God’s love.
Above all else, Phil’s greatest pride and deepest love was his son, Kevin McGraw. Kevin was truly the apple of his father’s eye, and there was nothing that brought Phil more joy than being his dad.
He also loved his beloved dog, Jessie, and taking her for walks.
In addition to his son, Kevin, Phil is survived by his brother, James McGraw; his sister, Kathy McGraw and Janet; along with his cherished niece, and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends who will forever hold his memory close.
A memorial visitation celebrating Phil’s life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at:
