

Richard Lane Brannon, age 63, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1961 in LaGrange, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Martha Brannon, his brother Freddie Brannon, and his son Jacob Brannon. He graduated in 1980 from College Park High School, College Park, GA. My Honey, Big Rich, Bubba, Bean, Richie, and of course Daddy and PaPa was a hardworking simple man who lived his life with honor and integrity. He was a fearless competitor who wasn’t afraid of ANYTHING! Richard was loyal and reliable to all those he cared about. He loved his wife, children, ten grandchildren, extended family, work family and friends with a deep unconditional type of love that was undeniable. All those that were touched by him will always have a deep seated respect and admiration for him. He loved hunting, fishing, any competitive sport from baseball to badminton and anything that involved being outdoors. Richard passed his athleticism and competitive nature on to his children and grandchildren. He gained a great deal of happiness by spending time with his second favorite Girl, Tessa aka Tessie Girl, his loyal German Shorthaired Pointer. Richard had a strong belief in God which allowed him to live his life accordingly. He is survived by his wife, Michele Brannon, his children Jennifer Brannon (Travis Lynch), Clayton Brannon, and Kristin Comer all of Locust Grove, GA as well as bonus children Leslie (Jeremy) Dickson of Covington, GA, Jeff (Melissa) Jarrard of Lawrenceville, GA, his sisters Jenny (Bruce) Sweatt of Hampton, GA and Lisa (Mark) Sexton of Morrow, GA, stepmother Carolyn Brannon of Carrollton, GA, step siblings Trena Rhodes (Eric Baty) of Carrollton, GA and Wesley (Robin) Rhodes of Villa Rica, GA. The family will receive visitors from 2:00pm - 3:00pm on Sunday, January 5, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm at Haisten Funerals and Cremations in McDonough, Georgia with Randy Roddy officiating.
