Richard Frank Dubson was born August 22, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to Helen Miller Dubson and Reuban Frank Dubson. He passed away March 17, 2019 at Eternal Hope Hospice. He grew up the son of an Army Lt. Colonel living in Germany and Italy before his Father retired and settled in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from Richmond Academy in 1960. He met his first wife, Mary Ellen Wood Dubson at Richmond Academy and married in 1962. They had two daughters, Mary Suzanne Dubson Gamel and Barbara Dubson Deacon. He later had grandchildren whom he loved very much and spent time with when he could. He was a great role model to all of them. He worked for Delta Airlines for 29 proud years before retiring. He enjoyed woodworking, working in his yard, and worked part time at various jobs until his health no longer allowed him to do this. He was a charter member of Valley Hill Baptist Church in Riverdale, Georgia and served as a Deacon and on various committees within the church. He loved his church family and loved Jesus. He often told people about Jesus and how they could come to know Jesus as their personal Savior as well. After moving to Hampton, Georgia in 1998, he settled at Liberty Hill Baptist Church where he has remained a member. In 2008, his wife Mary Ellen Wood Dubson passed away from cancer and left him a widower after 46 years of marriage. However, in 2009, he was blessed to marry Jane Kline Dubson at Liberty Hill Baptist Church amongst many family and friends. Jane was his wife, his confidant, his companion, and his friend. She took care of Dad and loved him unconditionally despite his many health problems.
Richard Frank Dubson is survived by his wife Jane Kline Dubson, daughters Mary Suzanne Dubson Gamel (Tommy Barrett Jr.), Barbara Dubson Deacon (Andrew), grandchildren Kristen Gamel Corley (Stephen), Jordan Richard Gamel (Megan), Amanda Michelle Griggs (John), Nathaniel Blake Gamel, Brandon Azra Griggs (Brie), great grandchildren Bowen Lee Adams and Daisy Austin Gamel; step children Rhonda Kline Minch (Tim), Kevin Kline (Olesya), step Grandchildren John, Mark, and Noah; niece Ginger Radle Rhodes (Michael), Mark Radle; brother in law Charles Wood (Linda) and their children Jennifer and the late Ashley Wood, Robert Swearingen (Jan) and their children Amie and Julie, Jimmy Swearingen (Debbie) and their children Jessica, April, Joseph, and numerous other nieces & nephews.
