Though Robert was born and raised in Kansas, he moved to Georgia in 1973. He served briefly in the United States Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis thereafter he was in the sales with companies such as GE, Sales Managers Inc & South 5 Sales. He would then go on in the construction business for over 35 years. His first building company was named Sunflower Properties, named after his love of sunflowers. He was known around the office for his collection of firetrucks that would greet you at the door; covering all the walls and spaces seen as a reflection of his favorite color red. Being the youngest of 3 siblings, it was one of his greatest joys to witness 4 generations of his family together: Himself, daughter Kelli, granddaughter Kaitlyn and her son, Theo. He enjoyed fishing and cooking especially with his granddaughters.
Robert is survived by his wife, Pamela Chaney, his brother, Bill Chaney and many more family and friends.
A celebration of life for Robert will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Haisten Funerals & Cremations, 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway, McDonough, GA 30253.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to have donations sent to St. Jude Research Hospital.
