Roger Dale Floyd

Mr. Roger Dale Floyd, 74 of Locust Grove passed away on December 20, 2020. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Oliver and Mary Floyd. A sister, Lula Mae Krietner and a son Chad Simmons also preceded Roger in death. He was a proud Army Veteran serving from 1971 to 1973. Mr. Floyd enjoyed spending time with his family, farming, gardening and NASCAR. He was a member of Church of Christ in Knoxville, Georgia. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sherri, children, Jerry Dale (Keelie) Floyd of Greenville, Texas, Blake (Melissa) Simmons of Jonesboro, Georgia, Katie (Rick) Gregory of Mableton, Georgia and Courtney Strain of Locust Grove, Georgia. Grandchildren, Bryan (Caitlin) Floyd, Felicity Spurgeon, Kaydence Simmons, Taylor McBride, Kennedy Simmons, Payton McBride, Carter Strain and Scarlett Strain. Brother, Larry (Tina) Floyd of Dallas, Georgia, sister, Nancy (Gerry) Wiseman of Snellville, Georgia, brother, Orville (Lisa) Floyd of Hartford, Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Minister Nathan Battey will officiate Mr. Floyd's funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in our chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
