He married his childhood sweetheart Claudette Thony on Dec. 5, 1959, and together they had 11 children with 1 preceding him in death.
He left Haiti for a better life in New York in 1969. In 1975 they moved to New Jersey and then to GA in 2006. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, his children, countless grandchildren and great grandchildren, 13 siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was a hard working, self sacrificing, loving family man. He worked nights for years to provide for his family, as well as doing various work around the house. He was known as a "Jack of all trades" having knowledge of electronic, plumbing, construction and most of all mechanics. To his kids he was "Super Man" and "the number 1 Dad" as the protector and defender of his family. Everyone who knew him quickly understood that his family was his life.
Roger would say to his friends "You are all bad association, My wife is one of Jehovah's Witnesses and when she goes to heaven, I'm going to take hold of her feet, and go with her". Claudette's answer would always be, "I'm not going to heaven, there's no feet to take hold of. You need to seek out your own salvation." Claudette would slip Watchtower articles in his jacket pocket, or put one under his pillow. Slowly the truth began to touch his heart, he then informed his friends, "get your laughter out now because I'm studying the Bible and will be getting baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses". On July 17, 1993, 28 years after Claudette's baptism, he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He continued serving Jehovah until he passed away on April 18th 2020. He will be greatly missed. His family yearn for the day when they will see him again in the promised earthly paradise.
