Rolland (Rollie) George Riesberg, 83, of Morrow, GA passed away at his home on 9/11/2021. He was born on May 8, 1938 in Pawhuska, OK. He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Memphis State University with an Engineering Degree. He worked for Delta Air Lines while in college and eventually became a Materials and Process Engineer. It was at Delta Air Lines where Rollie met the love of his life, Loretta. Rollie continued to work at Delta Air Lines until he retired and began a short career at Lockheed Martin. Rollie and Loretta moved to Greenville, SC to finish his career with Lockheed before moving back to Morrow, GA. He founded Financial Growth Services in 1999. He had a passion for serving others through his business and was always willing to give a hand up to those in need. He enjoyed travelling out West and meeting new people, many of which became lifelong friends. Rollie never met a stranger. People felt like they knew him after just one conversation. He carried witness cards in his front pocket and never missed an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus and how his life was forever changed because of Jesus.
Rollie was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and formerly a member of Morrow First Baptist Church and The Rock Baptist Church in Rex, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Riesberg. He leaves one son, Doug Riesberg and daughter-in-law Amy Riesberg of Fayetteville, GA, four grandsons, Zachary Riesberg, Jeremiah Riesberg, Nathaniel Riesberg and Ethan Riesberg of Fayetteville, GA and two nieces, Meredith Layton and husband Scott of Lenoir City, TN and Ericka Frank and husband, Kevin of St. Louis, MO. The family will receive friends beginning 10:00 AM on September 16,2021 at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. The family will also receive friends and family at 9:00 AM on September 19 at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with a service to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rollie Riesberg to New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Love Worth Finding Ministries, Memphis, TN.
