Ruth Arlene Gavaza, age 96, of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, formerly of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 28, 2023. She was born August 12, 1927 in Liverpool, New York and was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Eugenia Robinson Simpson. After eloping, Ruth and her husband, the late Earle V. Gavaza, Jr. made their home in Melrose, Massachusetts before moving out west to Everett, Washington, where they remained for many years. She and her husband were very active in Gideons International. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judi Gavaza Loftin and a grandson, Todd Earle Loftin. Survivors include her children, Arlyne (Tracy) Bischof and Kenneth (Suzanne) Gavaza; son in law, Robert Loftin; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 5. 2023 - 11:00 am at Glen Haven Baptist Church. Interment will be held privately at Eastlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Gideon's International (www.gideons.org) in memory of Mrs. Gavaza.
