Samuel Kenneth McCart

Samuel (Sammy) McCart, age 70, of Moccasin Gap, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, William (Rosie) McCart and Eunice McCart, his brother, Stanley McCart, and his niece, Angela Gregory. He loved to fix all kinds of things—including cars, golf carts, lawn mowers, and washing machines—and he was always helping someone out by fixing things for them. He never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone, often greeting people with “Merry Christmas” no matter what time of year. He loved to share stories and jokes (often the same ones over and over). He worked at Simmons Manufacturing in McDonough, Georgia for over 46 years. He is survived by his wife, Susan McCart, his daughter, Samantha McCart, his son-in-law, Carl Burkart, his granddaughter Maggie Burkart, his siblings Barbara Patterson, Stacy McCart, Renee McCart, his brother and best friend Steven McCart, and all of their respective spouses and families, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. The family will receive friends from 10:00am – 11:00am on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. A memorial service will follow directly after this, at 11:00am in the chapel.
