Sandra Elaine Davis

Sandra Elaine Hornsby Davis, a beloved wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, passed away on January 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 76. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry; her daughter, Kimberly Fox (Scott); one grandson; her sisters, Debbie Thomas and Susan Hyde (Mike); and sister-in-law, Sally Hornsby. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, William H. Hornsby and Mildred Hornsby-Helton, and her brother, Gary Hornsby. Elaine grew up in the Grant Park area of Atlanta and went to Roosevelt High School (class of '66). Elaine loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She enjoyed camping on the oceanfront and fishing, always ready for a spur-of-the-moment adventure any day of the week. She was a shining example of how to think of others, always showing encouragement, kindness, and empathy with the capability to bring joy to everyone around her. Elaine was a loyal friend and will be remembered for her strength, confidence, feistiness, and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. A Celebration of Life service will take place at 11:00 am on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Rockdale Community Church in Conyers, GA. The family will welcome guests for visitation at the church before the service from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. May you rest in peace, Elaine. Your selflessness, love, and wise advice will forever live in our hearts.
