On December 4, 2018 Angels came down and took Scott home. Scott Douglas Cupit (a.k.a ., Uncle Scott) of Alpharetta, Georgia left us way too soon. A kinder soul you would have never met. No matter what was going on in his life, he always asked you first how you were doing. Scott’s empathy and desire to help others was always prevalent. Scott spent 18 years with UPS working with friends he treasured and spoke of often.
Scott is survived by his mother Linda Alcorn and stepfather Gerald. Brother Johnnie Cupit (Sandy), sister Erica Redman (Jason). Scott was blessed with seven nieces and nephews: Taylor (Kaylan), Nathan (Amber), Ryan, Noah and Rebecca Cupit from his brother. Haley and Camden Redman from his sister. Three great nieces and one great nephew. Aunt(s) Louise (Uncle Jerry Hill) and Carrie Epps. Cousins: Jen-ai Kennovin, Melissa (Brian) Bishop, Tony Hill, Troy Epps, Patrick, Jarrod, Chris and Donnie Cupit.
Scott had a vibrant smile and a belly laugh you couldn’t help but laugh with. He spent time fishing with his stepfather Gerald and loved playing golf with his Uncle Roy. Three years ago, Scott wrote this for his Uncle Roy’s funeral, it speaks volumes of the man Scott became.
“Every time I knew I was playing golf with Uncle Roy I would be so excited. It was a learning experience yet a time of bonding. Whenever Uncle Roy was around me, I felt like I was somebody. When he walked into a room you knew he was there, and you were happy to see him there. He has rubbed off on me. Because when I get around my nephews and nieces, they always gravitate towards me and that was Uncle Roy's influence. He has made me into the uncle that I am. He was a teacher. There were so many things that he taught me. He was a father figure to me. He always had so much to offer. He was someone I will always look up to. He was the epitome of what a man is supposed to be.”
A Celebration of Life service will be held on February 9th, 2019 from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm at 2097 Freeman Road, Jonesboro, GA.
