Shirley Jane Tyler

Shirley Jane Tyler, age 85, of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. She was born on August 11, 1940 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Irvin and Lillian Norris. Shirley loved spending time with her family and taking trips to Disney. She enjoyed cooking, decorating cakes and catering weddings. Shirley won numerous cooking contest, including being one of the finalist in the Pillsbury Bake Off. Her recipe was published in the Pillsbury Cookbook. She worked at the USO Atlanta Airport and retired from Golden Crest Assisted Living and she was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Georgia. Mrs. Tyler is survived by her husband Bobby, children Steve Smith, Gini (Steve) Trott and Sean Tyler, siblings Bonita Merck and Beverly White, nine grandkids and six great grandkids. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm - 4:00pm on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Haisten Funeral Home in McDonough, Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 18, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Georgia. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park in McDonough, GA.
