Linde was born in Lubeck, Germany and in 1963 came to America on "the last banana boat". She is predeceased by her husband Horst and is survived by her daughters Barbara, Ute and Stephanie.
Linde's favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved to decorate for Christmas while listening to music. Baking cookies, stollen, and Hefezopf for family and friends. She enjoyed baking and cooking. At one point, she wanted to open up a bakery to share her cakes, cookies and other sweet treats. She had the ability to replicate a recipe and duplicate it at home.
She loved to travel, she had the opportunity to travel to many places around the world - Australia, Kenya, New Zealand, Fiji, South Korea, Egypt, Hawaii, Russia, and Europe. In addition, she explored all the US national parks.
Gardening was such a big part of her life. She enjoyed flowers (all types) throughout the year. She had such a green thumb that she was known for a beautiful green lawn and wonderful flower beds. She would get up early just to make sure she could spend time with her flowers and nature.
In February of 1986 Linde became the full-time caregiver for her daughter Barbara. As the years passed, this labor of love became more difficult. Her daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Philip moved from New York to be closer to Linde in New Jersey. In 2010, after 35+ years in New Jersey, Linde agreed to move to Georgia along with Stephanie, Philip and Barbara to a house where they could all live together.
In 2015 Linde's health declined and caregiver duties now passed to Stephanie and Phil for both Linde's recovery and for Barbara. This period brought them closer as a family and Linde would say that Phil was more like a son then a son-in-law.
Quality of time was important for her. A quick outing to the park, a nice dinner out, a visit with friends to play cards, a stroll around the neighborhood was so paramount. In the end, time spent with family and friends is what really mattered to her.
A visitation for Linde will be held on Thursday October 30, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Haisten Funerals and Cremations 1745 Zack Hinton Parkway McDonough, Ga 30253
A Celebration of Linde's life will also be held on Tuesday November 4, 2025 at Redeemer Lutheran Church 2384 E Landis Avenue
